P4SS partners met in Riga for the Fourth Transnational meeting: what happened?

Sveika Rīga!

For the Fourth Transnational Meeting the partner consortium of 7 partners met up this April in Riga, the capital of Latvia and the biggest city of the Baltic states. For most of them it was the first time visiting it and everybody was very excited to travel up north. Only the Polish partner Salus Publica could not come personally, but this was not a problem, since it was a hybrid meeting.

Riga shone in its brightest colours, with a cloudless blue sky and sunny, mild weather. During the first day on location the partners met in the school´s conference room, where Zane Saukane, Deputy Head of the school’s project department and Ginta Salmina, Managing Director of ISMA welcomed them. Three students of the School, who participated in the LTTA in March, where also there, all ready to provide feedback on the game as well as the app. After an introduction by project manager Nicolò Angelo, the partners Il Salone dei Rifiutati, Axonforce and Salus Publica who are responsible in the development of the Game Manual, the Training Notebook and the Training App presented the feedback from the first testing phase, the LTTA. Small corrections where bespoken and the consortiums agreed on the deadlines for the translations into all the 6 national languages.

After the successful first day, partners met in the “OZO” golf club restaurant enjoying superb food and drinks with a stunning view on the Kisezers lake.

On the second day, the meeting was held in Rigas EU House, located in the city centre, right infront of Latvias National Opera House. This day was dedicated to project managerial activities, especially the planning of the dissemination of the results during the next months, as well as the financial reports. Nicolo Angelò focused especially on impact strategies and numbers and all the partners agreed on contacting and involving as many interested parties like formal and non-formal educational institutions as possible. The productive working day ended with a team photo, making sure that also the partners who were taking part remotely were on it

In the afternoon all partners were guided by the Riga Technical School Tourism students for a city tour in the old town, visiting famous places like the “Schwarzhäupterhaus” or the “Brīvības piemineklis”, the freedom monument of the Latvian independence. This great day ended with a delicious meal, accompanied by live music, at the Entresol restaurant in the city centre. Host Ginta Salmina tried to teach the partners Latvian vocabulary – which was not the easiest – but “Sveika Riga”, “Hello Riga”was easy to remember!

Sveika Riga – we hope to visit you again! Thank you for your hospitality!
